Republic Airways modernizes its hybrid infrastructure with Cloud Native Security Fabric (CNSF), enabling encrypted connectivity, consistent policy enforcement, and real-time visibility across clouds and on-prem.

01

Challenge:

Republic’s hybrid architecture—private data centers connected to AWS and Azure—relied heavily on native cloud tools, VPN tunnels, and traditional appliances. This created limited visibility across environments, operational inefficiencies, tunnel instability, and fragmentation between networking and security roles.

02

Solution:

Republic deployed Aviatrix Cloud Native Security Fabric using the Secure High-Performance Datacenter Edge to unify connectivity, encryption, segmentation, and policy enforcement across clouds and on-prem. CNSF provides real-time telemetry, stable high-performance encrypted connectivity, and a centralized operational plane.

03

Impact:

- Increased hybrid throughput by ~150 Mbps while maintaining full encryption - Reduced MTTR from days to under one hour through real-time telemetry - Accelerated regional deployments from multi-day to same-day - Gained consistent security posture and auditing for FAA compliance - Eliminated tunnel instability and improved overall network reliability

“We can spin up connectivity in a new region in under one day and have a full environment ready to go. That agility is very important to us as we have a small team and need to react to business needs quickly.”

Brent Fowler

Senior Network Engineer, Republic Airways

Republic Airways operates a demanding hybrid cloud and on-premises environment that requires both performance and reliability.

As the airline modernized its operations, multiple business units needed to build new cloud environments quickly—and securely. But native cloud networking couldn’t provide the telemetry, segmentation, or operational consistency required to support mission-critical aviation workloads.

Traditional tooling made it difficult to maintain visibility across clouds, regions, and on-prem locations.

VPN tunnels were fragile, troubleshooting was reactive, and diagnosing routing problems could take hours. The networking and security teams increasingly overlapped in responsibilities, but their tools did not. Republic needed a unified operational model that aligned both teams without slowing innovation.

CNSF provided the unified enforcement and visibility fabric Republic needed.

By standardizing on CNSF, Republic gained real-time telemetry, stable encrypted connectivity, and microsegmentation across all environments. Engineers can now deploy new environments rapidly, with policies and visibility applied automatically. As Fowler noted, the team no longer has to think in terms of individual clouds—everything operates through a single fabric.

The result is agility without sacrificing security or reliability.

CNSF allows Republic to move at airline speed while maintaining enterprise-grade security. Network provisioning is faster, troubleshooting is dramatically simpler, and the airline gains consistent visibility across every workload, connection, and region.

“Having one unified architecture and the automation and orchestration that Aviatrix provides makes us faster and more agile.”
